| chargeX is 100% solid-state charger. This is an on-board charger that remains attached to the battery.
chargeX dimensions are 1.5" x 2" x .75" (about the same size as a pack of gum).
This "smart" charger is microprocessor controlled and has built-in detect function to recognize different types of batteries. This information is kept in the memory until the unit is disconnected from the battery.
chargeX uses a technique known as Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) to charge a battery. If the battery voltage is low, more power is supplied to the battery. As the voltage increases to the fully charged condition, the amount of power supplied to the battery decreases and turns off completely when the battery is fully charged.
PWM charging when interleaved with controlled voltage spikes removes the sulfate build up on the battery plates. This "plate cleaning process" keeps the battery at peak condition.
Upon detecting lead-acid, gel-cell or AGM type battery, the unit executes proper charging routines to safely charge the battery to its optimal voltage level.
Motorcycle touring is fun, but limited space to pack all the gear you need is not. With chargeX on-board, it's one less thing you have to pack.
